The Open Road

OK so the movie that I was an extra in, The Open Road, finally came out and if you watch it in Widescreen format, you will see me standing right there next to Jeff Bridges!! Woohoo

Mid Terms uuugghhhh

So today is Exam day for the Mid Terms. I have taken the one for accounting and made a D..... so sad. I will take the other one in the morning.

Sad Day

We got word that some friends from Orlando were involved in a traffic accident and one of the passengers, an 8 year old boy, was killed in the wreck. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Orlando church and to the families involved in this wreck.

It's over

We had a BLAST!!! Matthew didn't want to get off the ship and to tell you the truth, if my all my kids and grandkids could have been with us I wouldn't have wanted to get off either.

We went to Paradise Beach in Cozumel. It was awesome!!! They led me to a lovely lounge chair with an umbrella, brought me a bucket of Dos Equis cervesa, and some yummy chips, fresh salsa and guac. Matthew and Candi went snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming. Matthew did the bungee jumping and also the trampolines in the water and the rock wall. It was a great day in Cozumel. Then we went through the mall area and did a little shopping. After that we headed back to the ship to get ready for dinner and I took a little nap. All that sitting and drinking the cervesa wore me out. LOL.

That night they had a great dinner and then fun and festivities. Around 11:30 pm they had the Deck Party with the Mexican buffets. Lots of music and fun.

We saw two comedians on board during the cruise, Diane Ford and Brad Tassel. They were both very funny.

We are already planning our next cruise, it will be in April of 2010. Come join us!!

In Cozumel Today

We have docked in Cozumel and it is beautiful as usual. Clear sunny skies and HUMID!! OMG I am sweating like a fat man in the sun... oh wait... I am a fat man in the sun. :-)

We are having a great time, eating wayyyyy to much food, and I need a nap.

Finally here!!! We cruise in the morning

This last day of work before vacation was tough!!! We are leaving for New Orleans first thing in the morning. My parents were supposed to be home from Florida to stay with Holly and the baby but their car has a blown head gasket!! They are still in Jacksonville, FL. so our good friend down the street is going to let Holly and the baby stay with her until my parents get home. We are very excited to get on the ship but we know it is going to be hard to be away from the baby for that many days.

The Tigers did win on Saturday!! They are playing Marshall this Saturday and this will be the first home game I have missed in 4 years. I hope they win.

Movie Audition, Finals, and Football

So it is Saturday morning and very early!! I am going to a movie audition for the movie "Blind People". It starts at 10 am but check in is at 9:30 am. It should be over by 2 pm and then it is on to the house to get ready for the Tigers game. We are 0-2 so far this season and I am ready to see a new coach hired.

On another note, I stopped by the campaign headquarters for Jerry Lawler for Mayor 2009 and signed up to be a volunteer. I really think he will make a good Mayor for Memphis. He is a successful businessman and that is what this city needs. We do not need another slimy politician.

Finally, the last week of this semester is at hand. Finals are going to be tough and I have to have them done by Sunday night. So it looks like another all nighter for me.

Only 5 days till we set sail on the cruise, and I am getting excited.

So everyone wish me luck on the audition, the finals, and of course the Tigers game.

2 am and all is unwell

So here I sit, unable to sleep on a Friday night at 2:15 AM. I really need to be in the bed. I have a ton of homework I have to do the rest of the weekend. My Tigers will be playing later today and I'm hoping that they win. I went to the M & M bowl, and got very wet!! It poured down rain and I could not get out of there fast enough before I was soaked to the skin. Millington did win the M & M bowl however, 18 - 0 Go Trojans!! I'm getting very excited about the cruise. Only 12 more days till we set sail. I am sooo ready to be on that ship!! I am thinking about ordering a cake to be in our cabin when we check in. They have the most awesome chocolate cake. It is to die for.

Scared to death

Ok, so my handsome grandson was born September 1st. He already has me wrapped around his little finger. Friday morning he gave me the scare of my life. I got up around 6:15 and he was in his bed just kind of whimpering and moving around. He started acting like he was choking so I picked him up. I woke up his Mommy and told her to get ready to feed him and change his diaper. He wouldn't respond. He was breathing, he just wasn't responding to us trying to wake him up. He was very lathargic and non-responsive. He had slept all night and didn't wake up to get a feeding during the night. His Doctor told us to take him to the hospital. They ran all kinds of blood tests and finally determined that because we didn't wake him up in the middle of the night to feed him, his blood sugar dropped causing him to sleep even deeper. So now we know, make him wake up to eat every 2 hours. I have never been so scared in all of my life. I am so thankful that he is ok. God is so good. We had people praying from all over for that little guy.

Baby Bottles and Cruise Ships

Today is Monday August 31, 2009. My youngest daughter, Holly, is on the way to the hospital in major labor about to have my grandson. :-) I can't wait to spoil that little boy rotten. Right now she is having contractions about 3 minutes apart and is only 1 exit away from me.

Also, I just booked a cruise for the 24th of September. Going to Cozumel!!! Woohoo. I love Cozumel. Carlos & Charlies here I come.

We will set sail on the MS Fantasy out of New Orleans and then spend the next day at sea. We dock in Cozumel at 8 am the next day and spend the day there. Then at 5 pm we will set sail again. It will be a wonderful, relaxing trip.

French Toast and Sunday Morning

Uggghhh I did not sleep well last night. Tossed and turned all night, and woke up at 8:45am. So I grabbed an XS to get me going. Holly made breakfast for us this morning. French toast, sausage, fried bologna, and coffee. Today is Ashlee's, my oldest daughter, birthday. She is the mommy to my beautiful granddaughter Loralye. So they are all coming over for a "Whose Line Is It Anyway" themed birthday party. It should be fun.

On a separate note, we had Netflix ship us the first season of "The Big Bang Theory" and we have been watching marathon style. That is one funny show.

I've also started playing Farkle on Facebook. Holy crap is that addicting or what. I do have the high score for the week though. :-)

Saturdays are awesome

I slept late!! I actually slept until 8 am. Candi, my wife, is telling me that her farm is wilting on facebook and her restaurant staff is laying in the floor gasping for air because I am on the laptop and won't let her play. I still have 2 essays to write today so I will let her play for a little bit and then I have to get to work. My plan is to grill some salmon for dinner today. Holly, my daughter, is having contractions, today is the day I said she would have the baby. I predicted today at 9:53 pm, so she better get busy if she is going to make that deadline. My beautiful granddaughter spent the night with us last night. She is just too cute.



I am impatiently waiting for August 28th to get here because the movie "The Open Road" is supposed to release to theatres on that day. The movie stars Jeff Bridges and Justin Timberlake and even has a cameo by Lyle Lovett. Holly, Crystal (a coworker and friend), and myself were extras in this movie.



Well Candi is back and wanting to harvest her crops. So I will sign off for now. Have a happy saturday.
